Family Visit: Vincennes, Indiana

Leaving Wisconsin, I head south for Vincennes, Indiana to visit my sister and her family. Halfway down, rain begins to pour. Good thing though because my car is filthy and covered with bugs.

I stop by Terre Haute (still an hour away from Vincennes) where I was going to meet my sister and bro-in-law at a Japanese restaurant for a free dinner. A drug rep was hosting dinner for a group of doctors to present a new drug. Free Japanese dinner in exchange for listening to a short presentation? I'm there!

Dinner was surprisingly really really good! At first I was a bit apprehensive about how Japanese food would be in middle-america, but it turned out to be really good! Started it with a lot of sushi, then an actual entree, and then dessert. Not to mention the wines and sake that flowed freely. I saw a couple of doctors even order a full meal to-go! When you wonder why the price of drugs are so expensive, that's part of the reason.

Turns out the drug they were presenting was a new sleeping pill. So it wasn't all medical mumbo jumbo. I actually listened and enjoyed the presentation too... but enjoyed the food and drinks even more :) My sister takes over driving duties for the last hour home.

So the next couple of days are spent just catching up with my family and playing with my nephew. We also have another bonfire at the farm and enjoy the stars. Here's Cameron in his little go-cart at the farm (taken with my camera-phone, I had forgotten my camera. Not too shabby resolution,eh?):
