Would you like a beer with that haircut?

Potter calls from Hong Kong at 2 am and convinces me to change my plans and drop by Bend, OR before heading to Boise. Since this means breaking my originally planned 9 hour drive into two legs: three-hours and six-hours each, and since this would now give me time to tour Crater Lake, I change my plans. And it was totally worth it. Crater Lake, the deepest lake in North America, was amazingly beautiful. Pictures just don’t do it justice. But I’ll try anyway:

After lunch at the lake (well, overlooking the lake – I didn’t do the trek down to the waterline), I push on and arrive in Bend at 4:30 pm. The parking spot I found downtown was right in front of Bond St Barber Shop, and since I needed a haircut – I walk in and get one. Wonder of wonders, they offer you a beer while having a haircut! Free! I have a Blonde Bombshell and leave the place looking hotter than ever. Nice haircut.

I meet up with Drew and Maria, and the two kids Diego and Carmen, and Joe and Julie, for a few beers and a light dinner. Mark Pressey shows up too. I haven’t seen these guys for about 5 years! It was great catching up, and after a few drinks, we continue the evening with the girls at Astro Lounge for some Martinis, and then hip-hop dancing at the Grove.
